I totally agree.

In the past, things like this would be considered "accessories" to some device - IMHO, this is a "whole different kettle of fish" - "the wave of the future"

I might even have a great excuse to spend my savings on an iPad Pro and then go out and get all that I need to turn my house into an "old folks home with world class security and automation" (my Mom has Alzheimer's dementia and the "baby monitor" just ain't cuttin' it any more) 😉

In the meantime, Apple has a "suggestion box" by the water cooler

Home App will likely be considered by Apple as "just another app" for a bit.
